Obituary of Eunice H. Cherry

Eunice Cherry, 79, passed away on March 1st, 2025. She was preceded in life by her father, Herbert Cherry Sr., her mother, Gladys Cherry, and siblings Rose Reid, Virginia Cherry, & Herbert Cherry Jr.

Eunice not only had a passion for traveling, church & community, friends & family, but also charity; participating in generously donating to causes such as, The UNFC, The NAACP & The ASPCA due to her well-known love of animals; just to name a few.

Often in her spare time, you could find her playing card games & Bingo, if she wasn't helping someone.

She was also a cancer survivor.

She served 25 years in the NYPD Traffic Enforcement and retired as a well-respected lieutenant.

She is survived by her nieces and nephew, Wanda Cherry, Champagne Carrington, Barbara Cherry, Christine Cherry, Michelle Cherry, Monique Gravely, Kevin Brailsford Jr, Brianna Cherry-Santos, Victoria Jinks, Jada Jinks,  Caitlyn Quintana, Karen Brailsford and Kiahra Brailsford.

Family and friends may visit Scamardella Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd. Staten Island, NY 10314, on Friday, March 7 from 9-11 AM. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11AM, interment to follow at Frederick Douglass Memorial Park.
