Obituary of Francis X. Murphy

Francis (Frank) X. Murphy, 64, of Staten Island, passed away at home on February 11, 2025. He was born in Belfast, Norther Ireland, on March 4, 1960 and grew up in Brooklyn and Staten Island. He graduated from New Dorp High School and the College of Staten Island where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and later earned a MBA at Baruch College. Frank worked as an accountant, but had many skills and passions, among which were hiking with his friends, gardening and playing the classical guitar. Frank is survived by his daughter, Abigail Murphy and his siblings, Catherine James, Ciaran Murphy, Donal Murphy and Mareid Tillis. A memorial service was held on March 2, 2025 at the Everything Goes Bookstore Café and was attended by friends and family, including two nieces, Ava Murphy and Britney Tillis.
