Gladys W. Campbell Obituary

Gladys Winnifred Campbell, (Ms. Winnie) age 79 of Graniteville, Staten Island, NY and Upper Lincoln, Manchester, Jamaica West Indies, passed away on Saturday, December 27th, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Leonard Campbell; loving mother of Vanessa Campbell-Gordon and husband Oneal; grandmother of Oneilia; dear sister of the late Ena Logan, Julia Smith, Norma Billings and Clarice Weise, sister of Barbara (England), Mavis (Jamaica) and Reginald (USA). Gladys is also survived by six stepchildren, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, host of friends and loving church family.

Gladys was born, raised and completed her schooling in Manchester, Jamaica W.I. In her younger adult years she worked as Miller, later as a self-employed Crocheter making bags, hats and household decorative items and as a Cook selling breakfast and lunch at a private school in Mandeville, Jamaica. Eventually she transitioned to being a full-time homemaker after her marriage in 1993.

She was the youngest of her eight siblings but was a book of knowledge about her family history. Most of all she was a Christian and any chance she got would always gently encourage you to give your life to the Lord or praying over for you.

Viewing starts 9 AM to be followed by the Celebration Service at 10 AM, Willowbrook Park Baptist Church 1780 Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY, on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026.
