Our beloved brother, Omar Edgardo Carcamo passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. He was 66 years old. He is survived by his four children Cinthia, Nancy, Kevin and Dilcia.  Omar also leaves behind his seven grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, Niko, Josh, Carolina, Camilo and Alejandro, and his four siblings, Fernando, Suyapa, Maria, Erika and his dad, Fernando Carcamo.

Our dear brother was born and raised in Honduras and came to live to New York in the early 80’s. In his 20’s he lived in the Bronx then moved to Staten Island which remained his place of residence for most of his life.

For over 30 years Omar worked at NY Central Art Supply, a well-known art supply store in Manhattan. He loved art, photography, making soup and enjoyed staying on top of news, politics and current events.

Our brother had a unique sense of fashion and a wicked sense of humor.  His departure leaves us with a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by the family and others who loved and cared for him.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, 5/29 at 4-8 pm at Matthew Funeral Home located at 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY.  Interment to follow on Saturday, 5/30 at 11: 30 am Silver Mount Cemetery, 918 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY.
