Port Richmond- Madeline Rasile Giambrone passed away at home on Monday, April 20, 2020. Madeline was born on May 5, 1924 and lived on Staten Island her entire life. She was the youngest child of Rose and Frank Rasile and sister to Marie Caruso, Pasquale, Antonio, and Eugene Rasile. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph S. Giambrone, whom she married on June 30, 1946. Madeline excelled in her studies and was a graduate of Port Richmond High School. After high school, she worked at Brooklyn Naval Yard as a secretary during World War 11. Madeline enjoyed office work and continued her career at Fort Wadsworth. Madeline retired in the 1990's from IBR (Institute of Basic Research) where she was a management confidential secretary. A strong advocate of higher education, especially for women, Madeline encouraged and supported her daughters and granddaughters in the pursuits to attain degrees. When she wasn't relaxing with a crossword puzzle, one could find her in the kitchen baking with her husband, or sewing. She is survived by her daughters Joanne Donnaruma (John) of Kingston and Elaine Walters (Andrew) of Staten Island; her four granddaughters: Lynn Donnaruma, Lori Donnaruma, Andielynn Walters and Jodie Walters; great-grandson Joseph John Berrios, and many nieces and nephews. Her daughter, Marylynn Rapillo, passed away in 1993. In accordance with New York State's Executive Order in response to the Corona virus, the funeral and burial will be private.
