Obituary of Walter Gonzalez

Walter Gonzalez,74, of Staten Island, NY passed away on July 4th, 2020. He was born in Puerto Rico and grew up on the lower East Side. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and a US Army Reservist, Sgt First Class, and served for over 30 years. Walter worked as an ornamental & architectural iron worker for over 20 years with P.A. Fiebiger Inc. His restoration projects include the Central Park Bow Bridge, the William Penn Tower, the Bicentennial restoration of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island restoration, as well as many other historical projects. His second career included working with New England Motor Freight driving through out NYC and was always requested at the Jacob Javits Center. He finally retired in 2016. Walter is survived by his wife, Ana, his children Walter, Danny, and Jeannette, their spouses and his seven loving grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, Il 60611
