Irene Lee Demerjian, 76, of Staten Island,NY passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, in Staten Island.
Irene was born in Brooklyn,NY to Esther and Charles Boffert on May 16, 1944. She went to Lafayette High School in Brooklyn,Ny. She worked for Reinauer Transportation for many years. She enjoyed shopping, eating at restaurants, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved going to her community pool with all of her friends.
Irene is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Balzarano and Tracey Zalenski; her son in law, Michael Balzarano; her grandchildren Corinne and Jon Colon, Chelsea and Matthew Sommerfield, and Deena LoIacono; her sister, Janet Fox, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to extended their gratitude to SIUH University Hospice and BestCare home care.
There will be a private funeral service at Scamardella Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery on Thursday, August 27, at noon.
