Eva Marie Elzer

Eva M. Elzer a loving daughter, sister and Aunt passed away on July 14th at Richmond University Medical Center. A lifelong Staten Islander, Eva graduated from Port Richmond High School in 1979 and worked for Waldbaums Supermarket for over 20 years.
Eva was a loving, caring soul who brought joy and laughter to all who met her. She had a quick wit and always kept her sense of humor even through all of life’s struggles. Anyone who had the pleasure of spending time with Eva knew that along with the laughter, she would give you the shirt off her back or a shoulder to cry on. Eva cherished spending time with her great-nephew Jayden and great-nieces Cali and Leah and attending all family gatherings. Eva loved all the holidays, but Halloween and Christmas were her absolute favorites. She was known for her elaborate Halloween costumes and she attended many costume parties. At Christmas she loved decorating, collecting ornaments, and making Norwegian KrumKake. She had a strong love of all animals and rescued many pets over the years.
Eva was taken too soon and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her loving spirit and giving heart lit up any room she entered. Eva was predeceased by her loving parents Robert and Patricia Elzer. In addition to her great-nephew and great-nieces, Eva is survived by her brother Robert of Arizona, her sister Patricia Valenti, her nieces Caitlin and Patricia, and many loving cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 25th from 2-4pm at The Elks Lodge located at 3250 Richmond Ave, Staten Island, NY 10312.
