Rosalia passed away at 7:09 AM on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Richmond University Medical Center Staten Island, suffering from Covid 19.
Born and baptized Rosalia D’Angelo in St. Benedicta’s RC Parish, she lived almost her entire life on Clove Rd. in the combined parish of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel – St. Benedicta, where she was a volunteer of the Rosary Altar Society, the school’s Mother’s Club, playing piano for the school’s assembly productions. She helped run many of the parish’s fund-raising events for over 50 years. In 2009, she was awarded the Richard E. Diamond Award by the parish for her steadfast devotion to her community and her inspiring example of caring and leadership.
A graduate of PS 19 and Richmond High School. With her husband, Chares, she established Super Speed Printing on Forest Ave. and operated it for more than 25 years.
A member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club and Soroptimists for many years. She will be remembered for her keen intelligence, generosity, infectious laughter, and wit. If you'd just met her in the supermarket, she'd be your best friend by the time you left.
She is survived by her son, Richard Patterson, her daughter-in-law, Sheri, and her granddaughter, Katherine; brother in law, Bruce Patterson; nieces,Amy Paolucci, Katherine Dunn, Laura St. John, Linda D’Angelo and Barbara Jean Dechbery; and nephews, Robert Patterson, Ralph D’Angelo, Robert D’Angelo, Eric Patterson, and Douglas Patterson
A viewing will be from 4PM to 8PM, Thursday, Sept. 2 at Scamardella Funeral Home, 332 Broadway, Staten Island, NY 10310, (718) 981-6622
A wake will be held at Scamardella Funeral Home, Broadway Staten Island, 4 to 8 PM Thursday, September 2nd.
There will be a Funeral Mass 9 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Benedicta RC Church, 1265 Castleton Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310, followed by Interment at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Rd, Staten Island, NY
