Ellen L. (Jones) Gray, 70, of Staten Island, N.Y., passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, in Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC). Born January 1, 1953, in Staten Island, NY. She was the daughter of the late Adriene (Braxton) Jones, and Roosevelt Jones.

Ellen Graduated from Curtis High School in 1972 and attended Staten Island Community College, where she earned an associate degree in Business. She worked for Willowbrook State School as a Dietary Aide for 20 years and worked as a Dietary Aide for South Beach Psychiatric Center for Seven years. The oldest of eleven children Ellen enjoyed listening to old school R&B (Mo-Town) music, dancing and spending time with her mother, Siblings, Nieces, and Nephews. Ellen attended the Temple of Restoration Ministry in Brooklyn N.Y. for the past 15 years.

Known as “EL” to family and friends, she will be remembered as a kind and loving person. A “Selfless” person who extended herself to help others. To her family, she will be remembered affectionately as “Ellie El, / Aunt El”

Ellen was loved by all and will be missed by family and friends near and far.

Services will be held at Scamardella Funeral Home located at 332 Broadway, Staten Island N.Y. 10310. The viewing is scheduled for Tuesday 5/30/2023, 2pm - 6pm followed by the funeral service on Wednesday 5/31/2023 at 11am.

Ellen was a loving Sister, Aunt, and Life Partner, she will be missed by all. She is survived by her Siblings, Rosetta Jones, Roosevelt Jones, Donzell Jones, Darlene Davenport, Kim Bullock, Naomi Burrwell, Derrick Jones, Alberto Cornett and Jerome Cornett. She also leaves behind her life partner Anthony Hardy, a host of nieces and nephews and two brother in-laws (James Burrwell and Bryant Bullock). She is predeceased by her parents, Adriene and Roosevelt Jones, and her brother Sparks Jones.
