Obituary of Althea Jack

Please share a memory of Althea to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Althea Jack, a longtime resident of Staten Island, New York passed away peacefully on October 29, 2023.

Althea was born in Manhattan, NY on November 26, 1950 to Samuel and Minnie Little, alongside her twin sister, Altmayse, who preceded her in death.  The family soon settled in Staten Island, NY where Althea was educated, graduating from Port Richmond High School in 1969.

She would go on to work for Manufacters Hanover Trust Co. in Lower Manhattan and Richmond University Medical Center (SI, NY), where she remained until her retirement.

One of her greatest joys was learning about Jehovah God and dedicating her life to him.  She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on August 2, 1968.  She remained faithful until her death.

All who had the privilege of knowing Thea, as she was affectionately called by many, will miss her silly, jovial nature, empathetic heart and random outbreaks of singing and dancing.

She leaves behind many loved ones, but none more treasured than her precious children, Ebony and Jasen Jack.  In addition to her children, surviving her are her sisters, Letheda Pulliam, Carol Little, Doelta Little, her brother, Nathaniel Little Sr., sister-in-law Rachel Little, a host of nieces and nephews, a bounty of friends and her Port Richmond Congregation.

Her viewing will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Scamardella Funeral Home, 332 Broadway, SI, NY from 3-7 pm.  Internment will be Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10:00 am at Fairview Cemetery, 1852 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10314.  A memorial talk will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at a future date and time to be announced.
