Dorothy Hazel Green, a Beloved Matriarch and Faithful Servant of God, Passes at age 82.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dorothy Hazel Green on January 8, 2024. Dorothy graced this world with her presence on November 12, 1941 in Staten Island, New York born to Elsie and James Green. Throughout her 82 years, she established a lasting legacy as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Dorothy lived her life as a testament to her faith in God. She was a pillar of her church community, serving with unwavering commitment and embodying the love of Christ in her every action. Her Christian faith was her compass, guiding her through life's trials and triumphs.

She was a beacon of love and the core of her family. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of devotion, resilience, and the purest joy that comes from a life shared with family. She was a nurturing mother, a doting grandmother, a delightful great-grandmother, an affectionate sister, and a steadfast friend.

Her life was full, and her values illustrated by the deep and enduring relationships she cultivated with her children, Sandra, Jay and the nephews she raised; Howard, Richard and Keith. She instilled in them the virtues of kindness, integrity, and the significance of family.

The arrival of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren saw Dorothy embracing her role with enthusiasm and grace, imparting life lessons and creating cherished memories that will survive her passing.

Her siblings, Margaret Dotts, Gwendolyn Flanders, Elsie Spivey, Richard Green, Theodoreen Briggs, and James (Jay) Nixon knew her as not just a sister, but a lifelong companion with whom they shared the countless joys and challenges that life presented.

Dorothy was also a passionate member of her church and brought happiness and solace to many. She was a giving soul, and her generous spirit was felt beyond her immediate family as she touched the lives of many.

Her warm smile, will live on as a comforting and joyous echo of a life that was rich and meaningful.

Dorothy has now joined the heavenly choir and is preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings except James (Jay) Nixon. She leaves behind her adoring children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and an extensive circle of friends and relatives who will miss her profoundly.

The family invites all who cherished Dorothy to join in celebrating the legacy of a life that was so beautifully lived.

Rest in peace, dear Dorothy. Your legacy of faith, love, and kindness will forever guide us until we meet again in the Lord's glorious presence.
