Obituary of Tina Higgins

Please share a memory of Tina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Tina Marie Brice was born on December 24, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Elenora Smith and Melvin Brice Sr. She attended New York HS of Printing where she discovered her love for writing.

On September 10, 1992, Tina married the love of her life, Larry Higgins, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter until her final days.

In 1995, Tina and her family moved to Staten Island, NY, where she found joy in simple pleasures like playing cards, savoring crabs, and basking in the warmth of her family's embrace. Tina was a pillar of strength for her 9 children who she adored,  always providing unwavering support and love, no matter the challenges she faced. Her resilience and determination were unparalleled, leaving an indelible mark on her family. Tina's commitment to her family extended beyond her children. She played a significant role in raising nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, cementing her as the glue that held her extended family together.

In 2018, Tina and Larry embarked on a new chapter of their lives, moving to Manhattan, New York, where they continued to create cherished memories together. With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Tina as she joins her parents, Elenora and Melvin, her brothers Robert and Oliver  and her grandson Stephon Jr. She leaves behind her beloved husband Larry Higgins, her 9 children Gary Brice, Larry Cofield, Terrence Cofield, Ahmend Brice, Robert Higgins, Lawrence Higgins, Ebony Brice, Ivory Cofield and Tina Brice and two step kids Travis and Shawanda Clayton.

Her siblings Debra Douglass, Sandra Cofield, Renee Roaye, Mary McMillian, Melvin Brice Jr., Edward Mosely, and Muhddi Allison. Brother in laws Ronald Higgins, Robert Bell, Stanley Roaye and Joey Johnson. Over two dozen grandchildren, and a multitude of relatives and friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Tina's vibrant spirit illuminated every room she entered, radiating warmth and love to all. Her ability to bring people together and create lasting memories was a testament to her kind and com passionate nature. Whether it was a family gathering or a simple game night, Tina cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. As we mourn Tina's passing, let us also celebrate her remarkable legacy of love, resilience, and compassion. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. May her memory be a blessing and a source of strength for generations to come.
